Once the Shreveport City Council discovered that then Council president James Green had handed out payraises to council clerk employees without a council vote, Attorney Treneisha Hill was hire as a special prosecutor to investigate the incident.
Ms. Hill has now rendered her report.
She concluded that the payraises were NOT properly authorized by Green.
She identified the amounts as follows:
1. Clerk of Council Shanerika Fleming received an increase of $18,974.73 annually
2. Chief Deputy Clerk of Council LaTonya Bogan received an increase of $10,329.83 annually
3.Council Analyst Jacqueline White received an increase of $9949.16 annually
4. Director of Council Affairs RJ Johnson received an increase of $5704.98 annually
5. Deputy Clerk of Council Terri Sanders received an increase of $3704.39 annually.
Ms. Hill noted that the evidence presented to her was inconclusive as to how the amount of the payraises were determined by Green.
Ms. Hill noted that all the moneys received by the council clerk office employees from the payraises had been reimbursed to the City of Shreveport.
