DEFAMATION SUIT AGAINST CADDO COMMISSIONER KRACMAN DISMISSED

Caddo District Judge Ramon Lafitte has signed a Joint Motion to Dismiss With Prejudice in the litigation filed by James Silvio, Karim Merchant, Rajan Khadka, and Edgemont Holdings, LLC against Chris Kracman.

The suit named Kracman individually versus in his capacity as a Caddo Commissioner. The allegations of defamation were based on comments made by Kracman wearing his commissioner hat.

The dismissal with prejudice means that none of the named parties can file additional litigation based upon the same set of alleged facts.

It is understood that Kracman’s legal counsel will soon make a claim against Caddo Parish for reimbursement of all legal fees and costs Kracman incurred including the cost of setting up a PAC to raise defense funds. Reportedly litigation will be filed if necessary to have these expenses paid.
