NO CITY ORDINANCES REGULATE TRICK- OR- TREATERS

Do you welcome the little ones in costumes or turn your light off and hide?

And what about the teenagers bussed in from other areas with pillowcases demanding candy?

Halloween always brings its challenges to homeowners and parents alike.

The general guidelines suggest that treat-or-treaters cease ringing doorbells at 8 p.m. and that they be accompanied by a responsible party. And parents are warned to check candy collected before their children consume the treats.

Neither Shreveport nor Bossier have any ordinances regulating this annual event.

Both cities have curfews for minors under 17 from midnight to 5 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Importantly Louisiana state law prohibits registered sex offenders from participating in Halloween activities involving children, such as wearing masks and handing out candy.
