WILL LED FUNDING OF G-UNIT STUDIOS INCLUDE FLOOD MITIGATION

The Christmas package of goodies reportedly in the LED’s Economic Plan for Development for Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and his dormant G-Unit Studios include a $78 million total capital investment in the former Millennium Studios, now G-Unit, at 300 Douglas Street.

The studios have been inoperable due to a serious flooding problem. City officials cite the low location of the studios that channels water into the studios. They have discounted the Grand Bayou apartment construction on the hill adjacent to the studios.

To date, the City has NOT disclosed the options for flood mitigation, the costs of each, and the funding source(s) for these expenditures. But then this question is just one of many in the wish upon a star proposed economic package.
