ELECTED LEADERS TO VISIT DATA CENTERS IN MANASSAS VIRGINIA

Manassas, Virginia, is a major hub for data centers featuring several state-of-the-art data centers.

Tomorrow (Wed.), Shreveport councilwoman Ursula Bowman and Caddo Commissioners Stormy Gage-Watts and Greg Young will visit  data centers in Manassas.

The proposed Shreveport data center location is in Bowman’s council district.

Gage-Watts is the president of the Commission.

Young is the chair of the Commission’s Economic Development Committee.

The Commission has approved a PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) for a data center in the parish OUTSIDE the city limits.

The primary concerns of these three officials include noise levels,  environmental pollution and job creation.

Shreveport Council Grayson Boucher was also to travel with the group but work deadlines prohibited his participation.

This trip will provide valuable information for the public from credible elected officials. This will complement comments made at the council work session yesterday by Mayor Arceneaux, NLEP Executive Director Justyn Dixon, municipal bond attorney Mike Busada, AEP executive Paul Pratt, and former city attorney William Bradford.
