MONROE LANDLORDS ARE THE LARGEST LANDOWNERS IN DOWNTOWN SHREVEPORT

Much hullabaloo has been made at the land purchases by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson in the downtown area. However, he is not the largest landowner in the downtown area as measured by square footage of the holdings.

Here are the properties owned by this out-of- town twosome:
- Slattery Building on the corner of Texas and Marshal--this building is totally empty

- Johnson Building Milam between Marshall and Edwards--this building is totally empty

- The Tent/old SporTran Terminal on corner of Crockett and Milam--not currently rented/occupied

- Red Brick Building/old First National Bank Building on corner of Texas and Edwards--this building has some  tenants on a few floors

- Lane Building on corner of Milam and Marshall--reportedly this building has approximately 50% occupancy

Both the Red Brick Building and the Lane Building have building managers. Some renovations have been made, and are being made. to the Red Brick building.

Reportedly, the Slattery Building has asbestos and the elevators are inoperable. The Johnson Building is infamous for its many open windows on its higher floors that are visible from the interstate.

Both these buildings have great histories in the downtown area and countless.

Shreveporters visited offices in both during the heyday of downtown when both were fully occupied. Now, they are monuments to the "good ole days" that will require untold millions of dollars to be returned to commerce.
