ANOTHER CADDO COMMISSION RESOLUTION PRESENTED WITH NO PRIOR APPROVAL OF COMMISSION

Now it’s two. They are a bit different, but fundamentally the same.

A resolution was presented to former Shreveport Mayor John Hussey at a ceremony at the Strand Theatre yesterday (Wed). See two pictures below.

This resolution was not voted upon/approved by the Caddo Commission PRIOR to the proclamation presentation by Commission parliamentarian Victor Thomas.

This is very similar to the presentation made to Bernie Sanders on June 21.

There is a distinction, but probably not one of any legal significance.

The Sanders resolution NEVER appeared on a Caddo Commission before the presentation to Sanders. In fact, there was NO prior discussion of the proposed Sander resolution at any PRIOR discussion before at a public meeting of the Commission.

This time, the Hussey resolution WAS discussed at the Commission work session on Monday of this week. And this resolution was placed on the agenda for today's (Thursday) meeting.

Today's meeting will be interesting.
