THREE QUESTIONS FOR GAGE-WATTS AT HER MAYORAL CAMPAIGN PRESS CONFERENCE

Stormy Gage-Watts has scheduled a press conference on Jan.13 for her “official announcement” of her Shreveport mayoral campaign. The event will be at 5:30 pm at the Hilton.

Gage-Watts' term as Commission president ends at today’s meeting of the commission when new officers are elected. She cannot be elected to a second term.

There’s no doubt that she has had to pay to use the Hilton and thus is incurring campaign expenses that must be reported to the Louisiana Ethics Commission.

This raises the question of whether she has registered her campaign with the Louisiana Ethics Commission as a candidate.

A second question is whether she now has a residence in Shreveport. This is a requirement to qualify for the mayoral campaign.

A third question is what impact she thinks the Bernie Sanders recognition resolution will have on her campaign.

There are many more questions that can be asked about her campaign, but these three are seemingly paramount.
