BE A PART OF OUR DEMOCRATIC PROCESS—BECOME AN ELECTION WORKER

Hopefully all readers of this column have voted IN PERSON in at least one local election in Caddo Parish.

There are many, many polling places throughout the parish. And each of these requires several election workers to sign in voters and assist with the voting machines.

These workers are NOT volunteers!

They are PAID!

And without these dedicated citizens, no elections can be held.

There is always a need for more election workers, and especially this year with the many election dates this year including with the closed primaries.

Here are the qualifications for an election worker:

1. You must be a registered voter of Caddo Parish

2. You must be able to vote without assistance

3. You must not be a candidate or immediate family of a candidate

4. You must not have been convicted of any election offense.

More information plus an application is on the Caddo Clerk's website at www.caddoclerk.com.

Think about being a big part of our democratic process by 1) voting, and 2) and becoming an election worker. And the next time you vote at a poll, give a big thanks to those helping you vote.
