MANY QUESTIONS RAISED ON COUNCILMAN JACKON’S RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN

Shreveport Councilman Alan Jackson has released an announcement of his re-election campaign.

This release has prompted many questions about Jackson’s performance on the Shreveport City Council:

1.  Where does he really live since he is employed full time by an Austin, Texas university

2.  How many nights a month does Jackson sleep in Shreveport

3.  Why has he missed attending so many Shreveport City Council meetings since January 2023—seven work sessions, twelve regular meetings, four special council meetings, and three council committee meetings

4.  Why did he miss the meeting and the vote on pay raises for city employees

5.  Why did he miss the council meetings to vote on the city’s 2026 budget

6.  What role did he really have in the new businesses that have opened in his district since his election to the council

7.  What role did he really have in the passage of the 2024 bond package by Shreveport voters

8.  What expenditures/projects in the 2024 bond package have been made/started in Cedar Grove and Southern Hills which are in his district

9.  Is it true that his key campaign supporters are Caddo Parish Sheriff attorney Josh Williams and pastor Theron Jackson.

10. What was his ownership in the hookah bar/restaurant that burned.

Jackson’s press release contains many platitudes about his council service that lack a factual basis. One can expect these questions, and more will be asked at any public forums that Jackson participates in between now and the November council election.
