CADDO SHERIFF BUYS  FORMER CAR DEALORSHIP FOR $5.45 MILLION

Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn has purchased the old Mitsuhashi car dealership facility in the Auto Mall for $5. 45 million.

The Caddo Commission, which has the responsibility of providing facilities for the sheriff, funded $2.5 million for the purchase.

The transaction was closed by Shreveport attorney Courtney N. Harris, the only African American title producer in Shreveport.

The property is a 42,750 square-foot facility that has service bays for car maintenance and ample parking for storage of CSPO vehicles and equipment.

The facility will also house two aging substations that the Parish is leasing for the CPSO.

It is expected that some renovations will be made to accommodate the needs of the CPSO and that additional administrative offices will be relocated to this facility.
