John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

SHREVEPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT MARCH CRIME REPORT

Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith presented the March crime report to the Shreveport City Council yesterday. The crime statistics were current as of March 23, 2026.
 
Here are reported crimes comparing March 2026 to March 2025:
 
1.  Sex crimes are down 13
 
2.  Vehicle Thefts are down 2%
 
3.  Armed Robberies are up 1.4%
 
4.  Burglaries are down 14%
 
5.  Vehicle burglaries are down 29%
 
6.  Year to date shooting are down 75%
 
7.  Year to date Homicides are down 60%
 
8.  Year to date vehicle crashes are virtually the same
 
9.  Year to date fatal crashes are 7 compared to 8 in 2025.
