John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

END OF YEAR CAMPAIGN FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR SHREVEPORT COUNCIL MEMBERS

The website for the Louisiana Ethics Administration has now posted the required campaign financial statements for all Louisiana elected officials for the 2025 year end.
 
Shreveport has five incumbent council members that will seek reelection. James Green and Grayson Boucher are termed out and cannot seek reelection to the council this fall.
 
Gary Brooks leads the incumbents in his end of year campaign fund balance with $35,454.
 
Tabatha Taylor reported $11,526 in funds.
 
Alan Jackson listed $6,178 in funds.
 
Jim Taliaferro’s campaign fund balance was $4,610.42.
 
Ursula Bowman reported $492 in campaign funds.
 
These balances do not reflect any campaign funds collected since Jan. 1 of this year.
 
The next campaign fund reports were due by May 7, covering the period from January 1 through April 27, 2026.
