John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

WHO WILL BE NAMED SHREVEPORTS PERMANENT DEPUTY CHIEF OF POLICE

Antoine White retired as Shreveport’s Deputy Chief of Police on July 15 of last year after 25 years of service.
 
Brian Monette is serving as the Acting Deputy Chief.
 
The position can only be filled by a Shreveport police officer with a grade of sergeant or above and a minimum of eight years of full-time law enforcement experience.
 
Here are the 12 SPD officers who passed the deputy chief civil service exam on Jan. 12 of this year, listed in the order of their scores with the highest score at the top:
