Monday's Shreveport City Council meeting featured a surprise presentation by a Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson entourage that spent most of the time discussing 50"s interest in the Red River Entertainment District versus the need for 99-year leases for the Millinieuim and Epic Center properties.
This visit was orchestrated by coucilman James Green who was toting the water for councilwoman Tabatha Taylor's long-time love interest attorney Ron Lattier who is representing Jackson on this proposal.
The disjointed and unorganized presentation and resulting council discussion were completely premature and a waste of time, as there was no agenda item—much less notice—for the presentation other than the few words spoken in support of the leases scheduled for approval the next day, Tuesday.
A Jackson representative complained of many structural deficiencies in several of the properties in the district, but she left the complete list in her hotel room. She was accompanied by a so-called buidling "inspector" wearing a roofing company shirt and hat who pointed out many roof issues without providing any documentation.
The best that could be said about this clown was that Lattier could bill some hours that will undoubtedly benefit his love interest Tabatha.
Here is the Letter of Interest sent to Mayor Arceneaux that started this parade.

RE: Red River District
Letter of Intent
Dear Mayor Arcenaux:
We are counsel along Mr. Steve Savva for G-Unit Entertainment Louisiana and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. This Letter of Intent sets forth certain non-binding provisions with respect to the possible lease of the property known as Red River District and is not intended to be a binding agreement. This letter simply serves as an expression of the seriousness of Curtis Jackson d/b/a 50 Cent/G-Unit’s intent to acquire an interest in the property and to signal a starting point for discussions and negotiations centered around its possible use.
The purpose of the lease of the properties listed below will be to create a comprehensive tourist venue to include premier entertainment, upscale restaurants and retail shops, which will lead to multiple opportunities for other potential business to relocate and drive tourism to the City of Shreveport. We intend to co-labor with the City of Shreveport to develop economic opportunities, which includes a revitalization plan fueled by the well-funded G-Unit Entertainment Company.
Our plan for the Red River District includes renovations and/or upgrades to the properties listed below, some of which are currently vacant, in order to occupy and operate under new leases. They include (as they are currently known):
Cassandra’s – 500 Clyde Fant Parkway #100
Fatty Arbuckles Pub – 450 Clyde Fant Parkway #500
Artipsy – 450 Clyde Fant Parkway #600
Cohab – 500 Clyde Fant Parkway #200
Nicky’s – 500 Clyde Fant #300
We would anticipate moving forward with operating Cassandra’s on the Red within 30 days after the transfer of the lease. As to the other spaces, we hope to move forward within six (6) months of the date of this letter.
Letter of Intent
Red River District
We believe that our plans for upgrades, both interior and exterior, will greatly enhance the Red River District and contribute significantly to the increase of tourism in the City of Shreveport.
As always, we look forward to working with you on this venture. Please contact me or Mr. Savva at your convenience to further discuss.
Yours very truly,
