NOT A GOOD DAY TO BE A SHREVEPORT CITY EMPLOYEE BANK ACCOUNT

Shreveport city employees including police and fire woke up to a financial nightmare this morning.

All who are paid by direct deposit did NOT get their deposit at midnight.

But their direct payments to DOWUS have been processed.

Mayor Tom Arceneaux advised on KEEL radio that human error in the finance department was the culprit and that all direct deposits should be restored NLT noon today.

Reports indicate that many direct deposits have not been made.

Questions about direct payments from employee bank accounts that may have been refused due to overdrafts are yet to be answered.

Shreveport council members are happy that they do NOT have a council meeting on Monday.
