PROPOSED SPORTS COMPLEX WILL COMPETE WITH EXISTING VENUES

A Sports Facilities Company (SFC) representative made a presentation the proposed Caddo Parish sports facility project to the Caddo Commission Economic Development earlier this week..

The proposal included seating configurations for traveling sporting entertainment groups, high school graduations, concerts, convention meeting rooms and similar events.

SFC hopes to be named the manager for this facility.

The glowing presentation implied that this facility would compete with the parish’s Walter B. Jacobs Nature Center, the Shreveport Convention Center, the Brookshire’s Grocery Arena, Riverview Hall and Theatre,  Municipal Auditorium, Hirsch Coliseum, The Strand, The Shreveport Little Theatre, Marjorie Lyons Playhouse, casino entertainment  venues and maybe even Curtis “50 Cent” Jacksons’ Expo Hall 99 year lease and his proposed G-Unit Dome.

How many more meeting venues are needed in Shreveport Bossier is just one of many questions about the proposed facility.
