WILL JACKSON’S FIRESIDE CHAT TOMORROW NIGHT SATISFY ONE OF LED FUNDING REQUIREMENTS

The Louisiana Economic Development (LED) and G-Unit Film & Television Louisiana LLC (G-Unit) entered into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement (CEA) on January 12, 2026 that sets forth detailed terms and conditions for the LED reimbursement of up to  $50 million for specified G-Unit expenses in Shreveport.

The 38-page  CEA requires a minimum of two Productions with a total Production Budget Cost of no less than $5 million dollars in Project Year 1 which ends December 31, 2026

The CEA defines a “production” as an “entertainment event” such as a motion picture (or similar movie type production), television show(s), or live events such as comedy, theatrical/music events and festivals, podcasts, lectures, sporting events and other productions “designed for general entertainment purposes."

These events are to be conducted in either Millennium Studios or Stageworks.

The failure to comply with these production requirements is a default under the CEA  and subject to a clawback of moneys reimbursed by LED, which were authorized in an amount exceeding $2 million this past week.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) Jackson is conducting an open forum and fireside chat at the Shreveport Convention Center at 6 p.m.

Seemingly this event will not satisfy the LED requirement of a production/entertainment event, which will mean that the December 31, 2026 deadline is fasting approaching for two productions costing at least $5 million.

The agreement allows for performance delays due to Force Majeure (act of God); however, yesterday's water intrusion at Millennium Studios is reportedly the fault of G-Unit and/or a G-Unit party which would not satisfy this exception.

Stageworks has previously been utilized by G-Unit and is certainly available for performances that will satisfy the two production mandate.
