John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

SHREVEPORT/CADDO BUILDING PERMITS ISSUED FOR DATA CENTER CONSTRUCTION

The City of Shreveport issues building permits for construction in the City of Shreveport and in Caddo Parish.
 
Four permits have been issued for the construction of the STACK/Amazon data center on Stateline Road, each for construction of building shell and foundation for single-tenant computer data center, work includes structural systems, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, plumbing infrastructure and associated site development:
 
1.  BUILDING 150 -- Valuation $54,524,995   Permit Fees $196,602.66
 
2.  BUILDING 151, FORMERLY BUILDING 2-- Valuation $57,779,419   Permit Fees $207,283.13
 
3.  BUILDING 152 -- Valuation $54,524,995   Permit Fees $196,602.66
 
4.  BUILDING 153 -- Valuation $58,879,029   Permit Fees $209,742.75

These permit fees are remitted to the City of Shreveport. The parish receives $50 for each permit to check flood zones and assign 911 address.
 
One permit has been issued for construction on Resilient Way for Building 1, which covers the core and shell construction of the first data center building within a larger campus development.

This permit has a Valuation of $54,524,995 and the permit fees were $195,571.16.
