WILL WHITEHORN BE TRANSPARENT ON PRISONER ESCAPE

Its highly questionable if Sheriff Whitehorn will publicly release what really went wrong with the escape of Tre’veon Jackson.
 
Whitehorn read from a prepared statement at Tuesday’s press conference and did not take questions.
 
Whitehorn spoke to the North Shreveport Business Association on Sept., reading a prepared speech and he did not take questions.
 
He has rarely granted media interviews in the two plus years as Sheriff.
 
As Shreveport’s CAO, Whitehorn did not return phone calls or emails and rarely if ever gave public statements other than at council meetings.
 
His office is the only one in north Louisiana that will not answer public records request by email and charges a dollar a page for a written response, which can be “NO DOCUMENTS AVAILABE.”
 
Until Jackson is captured, Whitehorn can duck interviews saying the escape is under investigation.
 
No doubt an independent investigation by the Department of Corrections and/or the Louisiana State Police will eventually be needed to discover “the real story.”
