John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

SHREVEPORTS $100 GRAND PAY STUDY FLAWED

You just don’t get the same bang for $100,000 that you once did.
 
Such is the case with the City of Shreveport and the compensation report prepared by a Chicago company, HUB.
 
The report used “multiple sources” to provide information on base pay, annual cash bonus, total cash compensation for job summaries evaluating the pay scales of Shreveport employees.
 
BUT
 
and it’s a BIG, BIG BUT
 
The high dollar report did NOT compare retirement benefits, holidays, and PTO that city employees enjoy when comparing overall salary packages.
 
GEEZ
 
That’s not apples to apples.
