John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

CITY OF SHREVEPORT’S PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST PORTAL A JOKE

So much for all the ballyhoo about the Shreveport’s public records request portal and efficiency, much less compliance with Louisiana law.

The standard response to a request includes this message to the requester:

“The City of Shreveport has received your request. We anticipate that your response will be fulfilled in 15 business days. If more time is needed we will notify you through the portal.”

A request was made on August 20, 2026 for “a copy of building permit(s) to STACK/Amazon for construction of Data Center at Resilient Technology Park” and for “copy of permit(s) issued to STACK/Amazon for construction of Date Center on State Line Road.”

Counting August 21 as the first day, today is the 11th business day since the requests were made.
