On Monday (Sept. 21) Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith gave his monthly crime report on calls for service to the Shreveport City Council comparing year to date with Sept. 21, 2025. Here are the calls for service: 1. Felonies   Down 13% 2. Vehicle thefts   Down 14% 3.

NOVEMBER ELECTION WILL HAVE TWO OPEN CADDO JUDGESHIPS

The terms of all Caddo judges will be up for reelection in the Nov. 2 primary. With the exception for Judge Bobby Waddell and Judge Charles Tutt, all of the current district court judges are expected to be on the ballot.Judge Waddell is 71 and by state law he can not seek reelection.

COUNCILWOMAN COMMENTS ON CFO APPOINTMENT

The Shreveport City Council voted on Tuesday to confirm the appointment of Chief Financial Officer Sherricka Field Jones. Fields who is currently the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the City of Shreveport will report directly to the mayor and not to the next CAO.

SPORTRAN NAMED “TRANSIT SYSTEM OF THE YEAR”

The Federal Transit Administration has named SporTran 2020 “Transit System of the Year” for Region 6. The honor was announced February 26 during the 2020 SWTA Freedom Through Transit Annual Conference and Expo, held at the Shreveport Convention Center.
