On Monday (Sept. 21) Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith gave his monthly crime report on calls for service to the Shreveport City Council comparing year to date with Sept. 21, 2025. Here are the calls for service: 1. Felonies   Down 13% 2. Vehicle thefts   Down 14% 3.

The terms of all twelve Caddo Parish commissioners end this year. Well..technically at the first Commission meeting of next year.The parish charter limits commissioners to 3 consecutive four year terms.Doug Dominick represents District 1. He is termed out.

Yesterday (Aug.15) was the deadline to submit application for the Caddo Registrar of Voters.Caddo Commission clerk received twenty one (21) applications. He has forwarded those to Donna Frazier, parish attorney.

Theron Jackson resigned from the Shreveport Caddo Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) board last week. That leaves 8 members.The Caddo Commission will select a replacement for Jackson. This could be at the Aug. 22 meeting. The chart below has information on all the board members.

Seriously...voters decide whether to pass a bond issue. Or more particularly, what parts of a proposed bond issue to approve. Seemingly many on the Shreveport city council act as if they–or a majority of them–decide the passage of a bond package.
