The Shreveport Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has an annual budget of approximately $1.65 million, and it pays Cedric Glover its executive director, over $110 thousand per year.
The City of Shreveport has contracted with the Retail Strategies consulting group for a three-year, $135 thousand consulting agreement to help revitalize downtown Shreveport.
Guess how much DDA is chipping in?
How about $15,000 total which is probably less than the total costs of all the benefits paid for Glover?
The City is stepping in because the DDA has not successfully recruited new businesses and tenants to the downtown area in the last two years with Glover at the helm, much less increased downtown visitors and downtown security.
So why should Shreveport voters renew the DDA tax on Nov. 3?
