Paranoid Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor Requires Extra Security At Council Meeting

Yesterday’s (Tues.) Shreveport city council meeting had very few citizens in attendance.

The meeting did have eleven—yes 11—Shreveport Police officers in the council chambers, including SPD Chief Wayne Smith.

SPD officers outnumbered the visitors.

Shreveport City Council Chairwoman Tabatha Taylor requested Chief Wayne bring extra security to the meeting.

Taylor stated she was concerned that city workers would come to the chambers to protest that they were not getting a pay raise on December first like first responders versus March 1, 2027.

Really?

Did Tabatha think city workers would take PTO to protest a 3% pay raise scheduled for March 1, 2027?

Really?

Did Tabatha think city workers were going to appear before the mayor and the CAO and make a big scene?

Really?

Did Tabatha want more SPD officers in the council chambers than on the streets in any patrol area during the council meetings?

Really?

It's not the first time Taylor has expressed unfounded paranoia at council meetings and at City Hall.

Taylor has a well funded opponent in her bid to be re-elected to the council next Tuesday.
