John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

Emily Merckle is a candidate for Shreveport City Judge. Her opponents are Edward Mouton and Paul Wood.

The latest campaign report filed by Merckle is for the period of Sept. 25 through Oct. 14.

The report shows no loans in that period. The total loans by Merckle to her campaign are $7500.

Mouton has made loans to his campaign in excess of $58,700.

Wood has made loans to his campaign of $73,000.

Her campaign funds on hand as of Oct. 14 were in excess of $22,800.
