All 3 major Caddo Parish sales taxing jurisdictions rose in November over 2024. Only 1 of 3 did so in Bossier Parish.
The City of Shreveport, using a calendar fiscal year, tallied $14,043,720 in November. This was a 0.4% increase from last year's $13,984,328. Its 11-month YTD sum is 2.6% up from a year ago, $153,510,884 vs $149,605,785. Its 2.75% levy is the highest of all of the NW LA sales taxing entities.
The Caddo Parish School Board imposes its 1.5% tax rate on a July 1 to June 30 fiscal year per LA law. In November it generated $9,423,060, 1.3% above its $9,305,674 a year back. Its 5-month fiscal YTD total of $46,428,561 is 2.4% greater than last year, when $45,328,831 was deposited.
The Law Enforcement District of Caddo, the Sheriff, has a 0.35% sales tax rate. It accounts for its monies using the calendar fiscal year. In November it brought in 1.4% more than 2024, $2,198,848 vs $2,169,020. Its 11-month total, $23,721,071, was 3.2% above the $22,975,171 from 2024.
Bossier City-Parish saw an 11.5% decline in November vs 2024, $5,533,911 vs $6,252,035. However, using a fiscal calendar year, its YTD 11-month tally, $62,181,584, rises 5.1% higher than last year, when $59,187,162 was tallied.
The Bossier Parish School Board also fell, a 4.2% drop in November, $6,011,710 vs $6,277,710, yet its YTD 5-month figure of $30,284,187 is 9.3% above 2024's $27,709,549.
The Bossier Parish Police Jury has a calendar fiscal year. Its November and 11-month YTD numbers were both more than 2024. Last month it garnered $1,323,634, a jump of a robust 15.8% above last year, when $1,143,013 came in. YTD its $12,718,636 was 5.8% above 2024's $12,020,544.
