LUNN'S DAMAGE LAWSUIT AGAINST DAN AND JACQUE JOVIC, KTAL AND STATION OWNER  SIGNED OFF ON BY FIVE TOP RANKING ATTORNEYS!

WOW!
WOW!
WOW!

How is this lineup for top ranking attorneys:

• Former State Senator  Ryan Gatti
• Former Supreme Court Justice Scott J. Crichton
• Scott Steinberg from New Orleans
• "Take No Prisoners"  Shreveport attorney Jerry Harper
• Well Respected Scott Zimmer who formerly practiced in Shreveport and now is in Fort Worth

All of these attorneys are representing former KTBS anchor and new director Bill Lunn in  this blockbuster lawsuit that could be precedent setting. The case will be heard by a Caddo jury and presided over by Caddo District Judge Ramon Lafitte.

In what reads like a law school hypothetical on defamation the lengthy detailed pleadings (34 pages with 40 plus pages of exhibits) outlines a course of action/action that appears to have been a malicious effort to "take out" a business competitor.

The litigation centers around an incident in May 2024 when Lunn attempted to meet a female after an exchange of texts on a social media platform. From there what happened is the subject of who to believe--Lunn or three self-styled vigilantes.

The short version is that Lunn says he believed the person answering the texts was a female aged 19. The vigilantes state the texts advised the female's age was either 15 or 16.

Lunn says he was beaten and robbed when he arrived at the agreed destination. Once he escaped he called 911. Lunn was never arrested, and no charges were filed after a long investigation by Shreveport Police.

Dan and his wife Jacque Jovic aired a newscast on June 3, 2024. Attached is paragraph 49 of the pleadings detailing the newscast:

The pleadings allege that Dan Jovic's newscast included numerous falsities including a staged phone call to Lunn's cell which Jovic knew was in the custody of SPD.

The lawsuit includes documentation that, on the surface, supports Lunn's version of the incident. It also contains communications with the station owner (Nexstar) requesting a retraction, which was denied.

Without regard to who did what, it cannot be denied that Lunn's professional career has been tanked by this incident. Additionally, Lunn's personal life has been adversely affected and his ability to gain meaningful employment commensurate with his work experience.

This is a detailed lawsuit with complicated legal issues. More will be written soon to provide more in depth analysis both factually and from the legal perspective.
