COUNCILMAN BROOKS HAS RECORD SETTING CAMPAIGN WAR CHEST

When it comes to Shreveport city council elections, there are campaign war chests, and there are HUGE campaign war chests.

Shreveport city councilman Gary Brooks falls in the latter category, with a humongous war chest for his re-election campaign.

Brooks recently filed his campaign finance report with the Louisiana Ethics Administration. He reported that as of Dec. 31, 2025, his campaign fund had  $35,454. That amount sets a record for the year PRIOR to a Shreveport council election.

For perspective, Councilmember Tabatha Taylor had the second-highest war chest at year-end with $11,525.

Brooks reports that additional funds have been raised this year and that he will aggressively build his funds for his fall re-election campaign.

Brooks has retained two local political consulting gurus to assist in planning his campaign.

In the 2022 election, Brooks was elected by a substantial margin in a run-off vote and he is expected to mount a formidable re-election effort.
