John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

SHREVEPORT COUNCILWOMAN URSULA BOWMAN TO HAVE A FUNDRAISER

It’s that’s time of the year.
 
Campaign fundraising for fall elections has geared up big time.
 
Incumbent Shreveport council members Tabatha Taylor and Alan Jackson have already had fundraising events this year. It is not known how much money they raised..
 
Taylor reported $11,526 in 2025 campaign funds, and Jackson reported $6,178.
 
Councilman Jim Talaferro’s campaign account had $4,610.
 
At year-end, Councilwoman Ursula Bowman’s campaign account was virtually empty, with less than $500.
 
Bowman is having a campaign fundraiser next Thursday, March 19, from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.at Silver Star Smokehouse on Youree Drive. A large crowd is expected.
