WHY IS PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE NOT CONSIDERING POLICE CARS AT MEETING TOMORROW (THURSDAY)

Goodness, talk about a milquetoast agenda that the Public Safety Committee, which Committee Chair Ron Cothran set, has for tomorrow, Thursday, at 2:30 p.m.

Are these issues front row—Animal Services, Disaster Response, and Ward Officers (Constables and Justices of Peace)?

Police cars and equipment for the Shreveport Police Department should seemingly have higher priority now that Mayor Arceneaux has submitted SPD Chief Wayne Smith’s wish list and the Commission has had the request by Shreveport Police Officers Association for a couple of weeks.

Cothran previously voted to refer the police car issue to his committee when the Commission deadlocked on a 6-6 vote.

So, Commissioner Cothran, why are you ducking this pressing issue?
