KNOE
KNOE has confirmed through multiple sources that the Richland Parish School Board will send out on Tuesday, June 10, the “13th checks” many teachers receive at the end of the school year.
Previously KNOE reported that the incoming Meta Data Center in Richland Parish would boost the local sales tax revenue and increase the size of the “clean-out check.” It is typically issued in May or June and is based on revenue generated by sales taxes.
Check’s formula
Here’s the math behind the checks:
Distributions are made only to regular, full-time employees from one-cent collections on the sales tax.
Individual shares may vary based on the percentage of contract days employed, leave without pay, garnishments, and other factors.
The distribution for certified employees is based on total years of certified experience, including years of service earned outside of Richland Parish. First-year employees receive 1/4 share; second-year employees receive 1/2 share; third-year employees receive 3/4 share; and employees with four or more years receive a full share, subject to the potential reductions mentioned above.
