MILLINNEUM STUDIO FLOODING MAY PUT A DAMPER ON FIFTY’S  FIRESIDE CHAT TOMORROW

Tomorrow (Wednesday) Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will have a 6 p.m. fireside chat at the Shreveport Convention Center to discuss his development plans for Shreveport.

Yesterday’s downpour resulted in flooding at Millennium Studios.

Earlier this year city officials declared that the flooding issues at the studios had been resolved and that any future flooding issues were Jackson's responsibility.

So now Shreveport has had two 100-year floods in the past few years.

The Millennium lease has an “as is” clause, which ostensibly puts the burden on Jackson to cure all flooding problems.

So now the legal question is who picks up the tab to repair yesterday's flood damage as well as any future mitigation efforts.

In the meantime, the Bayou Grande complex on the adjacent hill will be expanded which will result in less open ground for water absorption and more concrete to facilitate downhill water flow into the Millennium complex.
