John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

SARAH GIGLIO SWORN IN AS SHREVEPORT CITY COURT JUDGE PRO TEMP

Today Shreveport City Court Chief Judge Emily Merckle administered the oath of office to Sarah Giglio to serve as judge pro temp in the seat vacated by Brian Barber when he became U.S. Marshal.
 
Giglio will serve until the November judicial election, or until Amy Brainard  is sworn in as city judge if no one opposes her for that seat.
 
Giglio joins Merkle, Brittany Arvie, and Lori Graham (judge pro temp for suspended Shreve Sims) on the Shreveport City Court bench, forming the first all-female city court.
 
Giglio is a graduate of Texas A&M and SMU Law School.
 
She served as the 2025 Chair of the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl, and she is  a partner in the law firm of Gilmer & Giglio.
