It’s a pet project of the Caddo Commission’s resident dinosaur member, none other than the F-Bomb man Ken Epperson.
In case a reader has not purchased the current issue of The Inquisitor with Epperson on the cover, his profanity-laced conversation on a hot mic at the Commission’s last regular meeting is transcribed for reading.
Epperson believes a welcome sign on I-20 coming in from east Texas with the words “Veteran Friendly” is an absolute must to honor Barksdale Air Force Base, local active-duty personnel, and the retired veteran community in this area.
Really?
The welcome sign on I-49 is hardly noticeable to drivers going north at 60+ mph, much less the verbiage on the sign.
No doubt the same will be true if a sign is built on I-20 as vehicles whizz by on their way into Caddo Parish.
With the Commission, one never knows how the votes will go, especially after that group approved a $10 million pickleball complex and now wants voters to approve a $60 million sports complex bond issue.
The sign vote could be this Thursday at the Commission’s meeting.
