On Monday (Sept. 21) Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith gave his monthly crime report on calls for service to the Shreveport City Council comparing year to date with Sept. 21, 2025. Here are the calls for service: 1. Felonies   Down 13% 2. Vehicle thefts   Down 14% 3.

Goodness, a precedent has been set for Caddo elections. Tim Euler was the only candidate who filed FOR DISTRICT D got the Shreveport City Council… Amy Brainard was the only candidate who filed for Shreveport City Judge in her district. Thus, Euler and Brainard were elected.

Running for political office is hard, thankless work and certainly not “fun”. Tim Euler learned that lesson back in 2023 when he ran unsuccessfully for the Caddo Commission. He announced that he would run for the Shreveport City Council, District D, on December on Dec. 1 of last year.

Ollie Tyler was a one term Shreveport mayor, serving from 2014 through 2017. Following Tyler, Adrian Perkins was a one-term mayor, serving from 2018 through 2022. Mayor Tom Arceneaux is finishing his first term, and the question is whether he will be another one-term mayor.
